But the truth is if you are caught doing this you will be given a ticket, and you will have to pay a fine for doing it on the open road. There are many states which are coming up with new legislation which bans people from performing this stunt. Now if you are caught performing this stunt for the first time you have to pay a small fine. But after that, the penalty gets hefty along with jail time.  And it is not only about wheelie, but you also cannot perform any other stunts on your motorcycle. You cannot stand on your bike, or you cannot remove your hands from the handle.

There are many states which have put in wheelie in the category of stunting. Yes, many of you think that wheelie is not at all dangerous and you are in full control while performing it; still it is illegal. The driving public around you will disagree with this anyway. It not only distracts the other drivers around you but also increases the risk of road accidents. The laws for every state are different. Yes, some of the rules have indeed made it illegal to perform any stunt on the road. But there are many other states which haven’t done so. This does not make them legal. It is on the discretion of the police officer whether he wants just to let you go or give you a ticket for the same.
